Engage
Join Us
If you play an orchestral instrument, even if you are a bit rusty, please consider coming to a rehearsal to check us out and perhaps join us. We welcome new members to our orchestra, asking only that you commit to come to rehearsals and concerts, and practice on your own time as needed. Although the expectation for performance level is high, the atmosphere is supportive and educational.
We rehearse Saturday mornings during the school year from 10:00-Noon at the First Presbyterian Church of Forest City, 438 W. Main St., Forest City, NC 28043. We hope to see you there.
Video Production provided by the Broadcast Production Technology program at Isothermal Community College.

VOLUNTEER
It takes more than our volunteer musicians to make our Symphony prosper. Volunteers serve many purposes, from marketing and fund raising to show greeters and doorkeepers at rehearsal. If you love music and want to be a part of the Symphony, even if you don’t play an instrument, we have a place for you. Just send us an email stating your interests, and someone from the board will be in touch.
Some areas for volunteers:
- Symphony Guild- attend all shows to greet the public, provide information, pass out programs, etc.
- Marketing- distribute posters, brochures/rack cards; work on the creative team to create marketing materials
- Mailings- help prepare mailings that go out to our supporters
- Door greeters/keepers- assist during Saturday rehearsals to provide access and direction within the rehearsal space and assist with set up and take down.
- Technical/stage work- assist the production manager in loading/unloading the symphony equipment into a rental truck to set up for our concerts at The Foundation Performing Arts Center and other venues.
- Try everything to discover your place with our organization
